Kaya Village ( Ghost Town )
If you follow the mountain road behind the Fethiye Citadel leading south, after 7 km. you will reach a fascinating settlement where the Anatolian Greek lived until 1922. In the past the Kaya Village was called " Levissi ". Due to a population exchange mutually signed by two countries in 1922, the Turks in Thrace and the Anatolian greeks were exchanged. However, the immigrants from Thrace could not adapt themselves to environmental conditions and abondened the village in a short while. The Kaya Village plays host to visitors since 1923 as a "Ghost Town".
