After the archaeological expedition, a short drive higher up will take us to YAKA village where we have lunch at a trout-farm restaurant. The soothing sound of everflowing ice-cold waters gushing out of every rock bottom and tree root, and the cool atmosphere will relieve you from modern-day’s cares and worries.

Then a drive downhill towards the Mediterranean, we get to the Gorge SAKLIKENT. Words fail to fully comprehend this natural phenomenon which surprises the visitors even on their repeated visits. Melting snow and heavy rainfall from the peaks of Akdağ dug their way into the heart of the limestone rock table for thousands of years in this relatively young geological formation. And this 13 km=8 ml long Saklıkent gorge came into being. You can walk in the gorge as far as your courage permits, sit back on the riverside decks and enjoy the calm and quiet over the stream, or do an optional float-ring rafting in the icy waters of BLACK RIVER originating from the gorge. On the castle hill ( ACROPOLIS) you’ll hear the clash of PEGASUS and CHIMAERA, in the Roman baths-hospital you’ll find out how our Roman ancestors healed, purified, and enjoyed themselves, in the stadium you’ll feel the atmosphere of Olimpic games and gladiators’ bravado, in the theatre the Greek dramatic arts will reveal their secrets for you, and in the middle of the many different types of tombs in the ancient graveyard ( NECROPOLIS ) you’ll grasp the idea behind man’s urge to attain eternity. So much to see and learn about Greco-Roman history and mythology within a 45-minute drive from your resort. We advise you to do some reading beforehand.
